JBAK collaboration: Jennifer Rostock Set design

about a week ago JBAK finished up a very interesting collaboration with set designer extraordinaire David Lichtenauer on the backdrop set for the German band Jennifer Rostock.  they were in town doing a two day filming of a new live DVD and wanted something a little different for the set.  what we ended up with was a cubist style deconstruction of a JBAK painting incorporated into a shanty-town type stage and bar combo.  it was a great experience collaborating in this way with David and developing ideas that we otherwise may not have.

after speaking with the band and pitching them a few different concepts, the image we settled on painting was of an artist friend of ours making a hand/face gesture that the band and their fans make (sort of an inside thing, we’re not really sure what it’s all about to be honest).

big thanks go out to the Sarah and Erik at LaserLaser Management for all their work, the Band, Stattbad Wedding for hosting the event and bringing all the parties together, and especially David Lichtenauer.
